Will Richardson - Cello
Stephen Self - Piano

Composer's Notes:

Kiss on Wood is a short, static and serene meditation for violin and piano. Lasting about eight minutes it is an ornamental and highly elongated paraphrase on the Good Friday versicle, Ecce lignum crucis in quo salus mundi pependit: Venite adoremus (Behold the wood of the cross on which the saviour of the world was hung: come let us adore him). This is sung as the crucifix is slowly unveiled and before the people are invited forward to kiss the wood of the cross. The music and title are devotional an intent but can equally represent a gesture of love on the wooden instruments making this music.

Sunday March 1 at 3:00. Trinity Lutheran Church Stillwater, MN

Mozart Requiem and Holst's Saint Paul's Suite.

Mozart’s Requiem anchors our classic concert. Said to be “one of the most performed and studied pieces of music in history,” this isn’t a requiem that comforts and stirs in the expected ways. Instead, a curious and mysterious pull of human vulnerability emerges, presenting Mozart’s farewell essay in a striking new light. Don’t miss this performance of one of classical music’s greatest requiems, accompanied by full orchestra and featuring fantastic soloists. The concert will also include delightful moments from our past 45 years of music making.

Adult - $27.50
Senior - $22.00
Student - $10.00
